About the Author
Saviour Pirotta has written over 100 books for children, ranging from picture and information books to novels. He has won an Aesop Accolade in the United States and been commended by the American Booksellers Magazine and the National Council for Social Studies for his picture book Turtle Bay [Frances Lincoln]. Saviour is a trained chef and likes making his own pizza and ice cream. He also likes travelling and his favourite destination is the island of Corfu in Greece.
Emma Chichester Clark trained at the Chelsea College of Art and The Royal College of Art before becoming a full-time illustrator. She was awarded the Mother Goose Award in 1988 as the most promising newcomer to children’s book illustration. She has since illustrated a number of picture books and collections for Orchard Books, Andersen Press, Pavilion and Methuen. Emma lives in Fulham in South West London, and has featured in the Illustrators Hall of Fame in The Mail on Sunday with other illustrators including Quentin Blake, Michael Foreman, Shirley Hughes, Anthony Browne and Raymond Briggs.
